Size is a good thing to keep in mind with rpgs. That, and the history of how cultural critique of movies and books manifested into their own staple as academic study, magazines, periodicals, and broadcasts. Some academics would claim that those other mediums were the right size and profitability for the right time and place (a period of about 200 years)—evidenced by their gradual decline and hallowing out today.
